Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. It was an innate characteristic for a girl of Irish origin, and that was surrounded during her early days by talented relatives and parents. Maureen entered the safe haven of her parents on the 17th of August 1920, at Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita L. FitzSimons was a successful contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sports as a kid and excelled at sports. This naturally-born interest with her ability in performing was astonishing. Her winning of almost all the Feis prizes for her own nation's theatre and drama is a testimony to this. By age 14 she was invited to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre and operatic singing.
